THE HARVEST INN is
a stately Victorian era Bed and Breakfast that has been one of the social and
architectural centerpieces of Honesdale. Originally the Sarah Miller House,
built in 1897, it is ideally located in the historical residential district and
is currently one of the homes featured in the Self-Guided Walking Tour of
Honesdale, published by the Wayne County Historical Society.
THE HARVEST INN is distinguished
by its classic columns and handsome wrap-around porch. Relax on the porch
swing, where you can close your eyes and imagine what it must have been like to
live back at the turn of the century. Inside you will find a welcoming
fireplace where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea to take the chill off the
cooler months. Upstairs you will find bright and comfortable rooms, each with a
private bath, TV, telephone (local calls are always free), a/c, heat and fresh
flowers. In the dining room your breakfast usually consists of coffee, tea, fresh
fruit, juice, pastries, cereal, yogurt, French toast or pancakes with local
maple syrup, muffins, bacon or sausage and eggs.
